Falkor asleep in bed

It was a bit of a quiet week leading into the holiday so a few more articles than normal as I’m working my way through my backlog of stuff to read and post. Here’s the stuff I found interesting this week:

  • Good Twitter thread on how to communicate things effectively (bonus points for using Star Wars references)

  • Pen test stories are always interesting, this is an unintentionally interesting one and thankfully no one was hurt

  • Brief history of the issues VW is having with the software for their new cars. Hopefully a post-mortem or more details from the dev team get published as it would be super interesting to get the inside perspective on what's going on.

  • Some solid insight on what to do when you product team gets caught focusing only on building stuff rather than building, measuring, and learning.

  • Management isn't easy and it can be a fast track to burnout if you're not careful. This is a great article with a few things you can do to alleviate burnout. I'm going to try to spend some time documenting my wins over the last few months as a way to prove to myself that I'm not just screaming into the void.

  • I really dug this article on the life of an agile coach. The author walks through the daily life of an team level coach as well as an enterprise level coach. It was nice to see what they did vs what I did when I was in those roles so I that I can find opportunities to improve for the next time I'm in one of those roles full time.
